Author’s Note

This memoir is written from my perspective and is grounded in my recollection, contemporaneous correspondence, employment records and other documents available to me as at 24 August 2026.

Where another person or organisation disputed an event or interpretation, I have tried to distinguish documented fact from my own belief, recollection or opinion. Some matters referred to in these pages remain unresolved as at the date of writing.

The purpose of this book is to tell my story, not to claim that every person who experienced these events would tell it the same way.
